The Patissier & The Publisher
One year ago, Phillipa Roberts took her first step into business and made a ‘signature’ cake for Bill Allerton, the publisher of Cybermouse Books, for the launch of his first novel, ‘The Fox & The Fish’.
The cake was presented as a surprise to Bill at the book launch and Bill loves this cake, an accurate replica of the novel in all respects, so much that he still can’t bear to put a knife to it.
One year on, Phillipa, with a little help from her friends, has now firmly established her business ‘Cakes by CherryPie’, making and decorating bespoke, original and traditional cakes to the highest standard.
One year on, Bill, with a little help from his friends, now has a publishing company with seven available titles including works from the likes of award-winner Berlie Doherty and an anthology for the Lymphoma Charity, entitled ‘Watch & Wait’.
Bill says that his cake is a constant, visible reminder that there are rewards for effort.
‘Cakes by CherryPie’ will have a stall at the street market on Netheredge Rd. on the 7th. of December where the ‘Fox & The Fish’ cake will feature (intact) in the display, and again at the Sharrowvale street market on the 14th. December.
